SAD Music

So the other day I was driving my friend home from school and she turned reggae on. Okay I can dig some reggae on a nice sunny day, but in the middle of a particularly gloomy February day, how can you possibly want to listen to Slightly Stoopid? That's when I realized that I may very well have a classic case of Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Except that my disorder pertains only to music. There really is certain music that is only meant to be listened to in the summer or winter. Reggae, especially stuff like Slightly Stoopid was meant for people who want to chill out a warm day when you have nowhere to do and nothing to do.  So maybe I seem really grumpy right now when people rave about how great the new fun. album is but the reality is that's probably what I'll be bumping in my car in three months from now. And when people start trying to play Radiohead and ruin my calm sunny days, I'll be SAD then too. Here's a link to a playlist that's been helping me make it through this winter: Free Your Mind let me know what you think!
